Ingredients/Components
- milk
- butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- water - 2 qt
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- large onion, diced - 1 item
- celery stalks, diced - 6 item
- bacon, cooked - 1 1
- to 9 medium potatoes, peeled and diced - 8 item
- to 3 carrots, diced - 2 item
How to make potato soup:
In large kettle, cook vegetables in water until tender. Drain, reserving liquid. Set vegetables aside.In same kettle, saut?© onion in butter until soft. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until thickened. Gently stir in cooked vegetables. Add cooked bacon. Add 1 cup or more of reserved cooking liquid until soup is desired consistency.
