Potato soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- medium potatoes, peeled and cubed - 3 item
- to 3 slices bacon - 2 item
- medium carrots, diced if desired - 2 item
How to make potato soup:
In saucepan, cook bacon until crisp; remove bacon and set aside. To drippings, add potatoes, celery, carrots, onion, water, salt and pepper. Cook, covered, about 15 minutes or until tender. Combine flour with small amount of milk until dissolved. Add to potato mixture along with remaining milk. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils. Garnish with bacon. Makes 4 to 5 servings.Tips: Bacon can be omitted. Cook vegetables in water as directed. Add 2 tablespoons butter when adding milk.
