Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 3 c
  • salt
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • water
  • soft butter - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped celery - 3/4 c
  • cayenne - 1/8 tsp
  • carrots, diced - 2 item
  • bouillon cube - 1 item
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • strips bacon, diced - 6 item
  • potatoes, cubed and peeled - 2 lb

How to make potato chowder:

Saute bacon and onion in large kettle. Add potatoes, celery, carrots, water, bouillon cube and seasonings. Cover and cook until vegies are tender. Add milk and heat through. Mix flour and butter. Add to chowder. Cook, stirring occasionally until slightly thick.
