Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • cooking oil - 3/4 c
  • butter flavoring - 1 tsp
  • poppy seed - 1 Tbsp
  • almond flavoring - 1 tsp
  • each vanilla, butter flavoring and almond flavoring - 1/2 tsp
  • Blend for 2 minutes with electric mixer

How to make poppy seed cake:

Mix together. Blend for 2 minutes with electric mixer. Pour in loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350°. Top with crack; if it looks doughy in crack, bake longer. Will not hurt if top looks brown because frosting makes it soft.Frosting:1/4 c. orange juice3/4 c. sugar1/2 tsp. each vanilla, butter flavoring and almond flavoring Pour over top of cake as soon as taken out of oven. Let set for 20 minutes only, then remove from pan.
