Poppy seed cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 3/4 c
- butter flavoring - 1 tsp
- poppy seed - 1 Tbsp
- almond flavoring - 1 tsp
- each vanilla, butter flavoring and almond flavoring - 1/2 tsp
- Blend for 2 minutes with electric mixer
How to make poppy seed cake:
Mix together. Blend for 2 minutes with electric mixer. Pour in loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350°. Top with crack; if it looks doughy in crack, bake longer. Will not hurt if top looks brown because frosting makes it soft.Frosting:1/4 c. orange juice3/4 c. sugar1/2 tsp. each vanilla, butter flavoring and almond flavoring Pour over top of cake as soon as taken out of oven.
