Popcorn crunch
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/4 c
- popped corn - 4 c
- pecans - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 2/3 c
- almonds - 1/2 c
- 1 stick margarine - 1/2 c
How to make popcorn crunch:
Combine sugar, margarine and syrup in heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue to cook to soft crack stage (290°). Remove from heat and stir in vanillaToast nuts in slow oven (300°) until light brown. Spread popped corn and nuts on lightly buttered baking pan or sheet. Pour hot syrup over and toss with 2 tablespoons until corn and nuts are coated. Cool, break apart and store in tightly covered container.
