Polynesian bars
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- chopped dates
- whole wheat flour - 3/4 c
- soft margarine - 3/4 c
- unbleached white flour - 3/4 c
- crushed pineapple, drained - 2 c
- oatmeal dry
How to make polynesian bars:
Filling:4 c. chopped dates2 c. crushed pineapple, drained3/4 c. water1 Tbsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients for Crumb Mix together and press half of mixture into 9 x 12-inch baking pan. Cook filling until thick and smooth. Spread over crust to edges. Spread remaining crumbs on top. Pat down. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares.In memory of Doreen Coulter.
