Ingredients/Components

  • granulated sugar - 7/8 c
  • water - 1 c
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • whole cloves - 4 item
  • cinnamon stick - 1 item
  • ripe plums - 2 lb

How to make plum sauce:

Bring the water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and cloves to a boil. Add the plums; simmer, stirring constantly, until the skins are shriveled. Remove the plums with a slotted spoon. Reduce the remaining liquid by half; strain and pour over the fruit. Allow to cool. Cover and refrigerate.
