Plum sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 Tbsp
- cloves - 2 item
- white wine vinegar
- firm, ripe plums - 1 lb
- fresh chopped mint - 1 Tbsp
How to make plum sauce:
Wash and pit the plums. Stew them in the vinegar with the cloves and sugar until they are tender. Remove the cloves and puree the mixture in a blender or food processor. Put the sauce in a saucepan, and add the mint. Reheat. If you find the sauce is a little too sharp, add more sugar.It is traditionally served with roast lamb or venison. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
