Pineapple upside down cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 2/3 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- baking powder
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- maraschino cherries - 9 item
- cake flour - 2 c
- pineapple slices, drained and halved - 5 item
How to make pineapple upside down cake:
Melt butter in 9 x 9-inch pan; brush up onto sides of pan. Add brown sugar; blend over low heat. Remove from heat and arrange pineapple halves and cherries.Combine sugar, salt and Crisco; cream together. Add eggs; beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together; add and mix alternately into creamed mixture with milk. Pour over butter and fruit in pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Turn onto cake platter immediately.
