Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 pt
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- egg yolks - 3 item
- margarine - 1 lb
- yeast
- Smuckers pineapple jam - 1 item
How to make pineapple turnovers:
Mix flour, salt and margarine as for pie dough. Combine sour cream, egg yolks and yeast and add to flour mixture. Chill dough several hours or overnight. Work with about 1/3 of dough at a time. Roll out slightly thinner than for pie dough. Cut into 4-inch rounds or squares and fill each with 1/2 teaspoon jam. Fold over and seal edges well with fork. Make a couple of slits on top for steam to escape. Brush with egg wash and bake at 375° until nicely browned.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pies and tarts, Low protein.
