Pickled okra
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 c
- white vinegar - 1 qt
- garlic cloves - 1 item
- dill seed - 1 item
- fresh okra - 1 item
- hot red pepper - 1 item
- hot green pepper - 1 item
- pure or uniodized salt - 1/2 c
How to make pickled okra:
Place 1/2 teaspoon dill seed in bottom of pint jar, approximately 4 pints. Wash okra and pack as tightly as possible in jars, being careful not to bruise. Add 1/2 teaspoon dill seed, 1 pod red and green peppers and 1 clove garlic to each jar. Bring vinegar, water and salt to a boil. Pour hot mixture over okra; seal and allow to stand 2 weeks.
