Pickled okra
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 6 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- white vinegar - 1 qt
- garlic cloves, peeled - 5 item
- celery and mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
- tender, fresh okra - 2 lb
- pods hot red peppers or green peppers - 5 item
- additional bell peppers and sugar to taste optional - 1 item
How to make pickled okra:
Wash okra and pack loosely into sterilized pint jars. Put 1 hot pepper pod and 1 garlic clove in each jar. Bring remaining ingredients to a boil. Pour over okra and seal. Let stand eight weeks before using. If pepper pods are not available, use 1/4 tRecipe categories: American, North american, Kwanzaa.
