Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vinegar - 2 c
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • water optional - 1 c
  • hot pepper - 1 c
  • garlic cloves, chopped - 2 item
  • large onions, quartered - 3 item
  • tomatoes, quartered and cored - 8 c

How to make picante sauce:

Cook slowly for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Pour into clean, hot jars and seal.
