Cream together sugar and shortening, beating in eggs, one at a time. Sift flours together; add milk and vanilla. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch pans. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Filling:1 c. sugar1 c. milk1 pkg. frozen coconut12 large marshmallows1 tsp. vanilla Prepare filling while cake is baking. You must stack the cake layers as soon as you take from the oven. Put sugar and milk in saucepan and bring to a boil. Then put in coconut and marshmallows. Boil, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Stack hot layers.Frosting:2 c. sugar1 stick margarine1 small can evaporated milk2 or 3 Tbsp. cocoa Cook over medium heat, stirring until thick. Frost top and sides of cake.
