Ingredients/Components

  • fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped - 2 c
  • olive oil - 1/2 c
  • fresh parsley, chopped - 1/2 c
  • large garlic cloves, chopped - 4 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 1/2 c

How to make pesto sauce:

Place all ingredients, except cheese, in food processor; process with on/off turns until smooth. Stir in cheese. Serve pesto over cooked pasta; use as dressing for potato salad. Mix with rice. Use in soup or as a topping for vegetables. Makes 6 servings.

Note: Stays about 3 months in refrigerator, or you can freeze it.
