Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- persimmon pulp - 1 c
- whole raisins or chopped dates - 1 c
How to make persimmon cookies:
Cream together shortening, sugar, persimmon pulp and egg. Sift together remaining dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add nuts, dates and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
