  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • heavy cream
  • light cream - 1/2 c
  • softened butter - 1 c

How to make perfect chocolate cake:

Filling:1 c. heavy cream1/4 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla Frosting:1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips1/2 c. light cream1 c. butter2 1/2 c. confectioners sugar Mix cocoa with boiling water until smooth with a whisk. Cool. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla on high speed until light (about 5 minutes). At low speed, beat in flour mixture in fourths, alternating with cocoa mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Do not overbeat. Divide evenly into three 8-inch round pans, greased and floured. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

Filling: Beat the whipping cream until stiff and blend in sugar and vanilla.

Frosting: In medium saucepan, mix chocolate chips, cream and butter. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from heat and with a whisk, blend in the confectioners sugar. In a small bowl, set over ice and beat until frosting holds shape.
