  • salt - 1 tsp
  • garlic salt - 1 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • steak cut into strips - 1 item
  • large peppers cut into thin strips - 2 item
  • cans stewed or whole tomatoes
  • box of instant rice - 1 item

How to make pepper steak and rice:

Brown beef strips slowly in 1 tsp. oil or shortening. Add garlic salt, pepper and soy sauce. Cook 3 to 4 minutes more. Add green peppers and onion. Cook 5 to 10 minutes until green peppers are tender. Add a little water if needed. Keep covered, then add tomatoes. Stirring uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes more, or until thick and rich. Serve over rice.
