Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- tomatoes, cut in eighths - 2 item
- green pepper, cut in 1-inch pieces - 1 c
- beef chuck, cut in very thin strips - 1 lb
How to make pepper steak:
Brown beef in hot oil. Add garlic and cook until yellow. Add soy sauce, salt and 1/4 cup water; cook 45 minutes. (Add more water, if necessary.) Add vegetables; cook 10 minutes.Stir cornstarch in 1 cup water and add to steak. Stir well. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes. Serve over hot, fluffy rice. Serves 4.
