Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- can mushrooms - 1 oz
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- beef bouillon cube - 1 item
- green peppers, cut into strips - 2 item
- rice or chow mein noodles - 1 item
- beef, sliced thin and cut into 2 x 1/8-inch strips - 2 lb
How to make pepper steak:
Fry beef in the butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Cook, stirring slightly, until browned. Remove meat from pan. Add onion and green pepper. Saute about 2 minutes. Return meat to skillet along with tomatoes and bouillon cube. Simmer about 5 minutes. Blend together the next 5 ingredients. Stir into the meat mixture and simmer until tender, stirring once in awhile. Add drained mushrooms a few minutes before serving.
