Pepper steak



  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • onion - 1 item
  • green pepper - 1 item
  • carrot - 1 item
  • can water chestnuts, drained - 1 item
  • celery stalks - 2 item
  • round steak - 1 2
  • can beef consomme - 1 item
  • broccoli stalk - 1 item

How to make pepper steak:

Slice all the vegetables. I use whatever I have in my refrigerator. Use a wok or Teflon frypan.

Stir-fry steak that has been cut into narrow strips until brown in 2 tablespoons of oil. Remove from pan and set aside. Stir-fry vegetables until tender-crisp. Add the meat, 1/4 cup soy sauce and beef consomme. Thicken with cornstarch dissolved in water. Simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Serve over rice.

Takes 30 minutes start to finish, all in one pan.
