Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 5 tsp
- vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- can water chestnuts, sliced - 1 item
- bacon, fried - 1/2 lb
- large can green beans - 1 item
How to make pennsylvania dutch green beans:
Brown onion and water chestnuts in hot bacon fat. Drain beans, saving 1 cup liquid. Mix liquid with rest of ingredients and add to onion. Cook and stir until it boils. Add beans and crumbled bacon. Heat well. Serve.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Pennsylvania dutch.
