Pennsylvania dutch green beans
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- small onion - 1 item
- can green beans - 1 lb
- can water chestnuts - 1 oz
- strips bacon, fried and crumbled - 3 item
How to make pennsylvania dutch green beans:
Fry bacon; reserve fat. Brown onion and water chestnuts in hot bacon fat. Drain green beans (save 1/2 cup liquid); mix with remaining ingredients and add to onion in skillet.
