Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 1 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
  • can crushed tomatoes - 1 oz
  • vodka - 3/4 c
  • each: minced onion and celery - 1 c
  • each: olive oil and butter - 1 Tbsp
  • minced prosciutto - 1/2 lb
  • each: fresh, chopped basil and parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • each: dried oregano and cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • penne, cooked al dente - 1 lb

How to make penne alla vodka:

Saute celery, onion and garlic in oil and butter for about 5 minutes. Add prosciutto and vodka and cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes longer. Add tomatoes, basil, parsley, oregano and pepper. Cook 10 more minutes. Add half and half and cook 5 minutes longer. Toss in cooked pasta and heat through for 5 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.
