Penne alla vodka
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 1 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
- can crushed tomatoes - 1 oz
- vodka - 3/4 c
- each: minced onion and celery - 1 c
- each: olive oil and butter - 1 Tbsp
- minced prosciutto - 1/2 lb
- each: fresh, chopped basil and parsley - 2 Tbsp
- each: dried oregano and cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- penne, cooked al dente - 1 lb
How to make penne alla vodka:
Saute celery, onion and garlic in oil and butter for about 5 minutes. Add prosciutto and vodka and cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes longer. Add tomatoes, basil, parsley, oregano and pepper. Cook 10 more minutes. Add half and half and cook 5 minutes longer. Toss in cooked pasta and heat through for 5 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.Recipe categories: Pasta, Pasta, rice and grains, Penne.
