Ingredients/Components

  • dry yeast - 1 pkg
  • very warm water - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • scalded milk - 1 c
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • melted butter
  • flour plus 1/2 c - 4 c
  • butter
  • brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • pecans - 1 pkg
  • For Inside:3/4 c
  • cinnamon - 3 Tbsp

How to make pecan rolls:

Topping:3/4 c. butter3/4 c. brown sugar1 pkg. pecans Spread evenly in pan, placing pecans.For Inside:3/4 c. sugar3 Tbsp. cinnamon Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup very warm water. Add sugar. Beat with fork. Add milk, salt and butter. Gradually beat in flour. Dough needs to be firm to handle well (add 1/2 cup flour if needed), but not too stiff. Knead on board until workable. Grease bowl with butter or oil and dip dough in and turn. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Prepare pan (12 x 14 x 2-inch) with topping. Divide dough in half. Knead well. Roll to rectangle or square very thin. Butter surface. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mixture on surface. Roll up like jelly roll. Cut in 1-inch pieces. Place in pan (16 rolls). Bake at 375° for about 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly and turn onto serving tray.
