Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • egg whites - 3 item
  • whipping cream - 1/2 pt
  • whole pecans - 15 item
  • soda crackers, coarsely crushed - 10 item

How to make pecan pie:

Beat egg whites until very stiff. Gradually add sugar, crackers, baking powder, vanilla and chopped nuts. Thoroughly grease 8-inch pie tin. Spread mixture in pie tin. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.

Note: Pie will raise high while baking, but will flatten out to form "crust" when taken from oven.

Let cool thoroughly. Fill with whipping cream. Garnish with whole pecans.
