Pecan crisps
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- sifted flour
- pecans - 1 c
- egg, separated - 1 item
- soft shortening - 1/2 c
How to make pecan crisps:
Heat oven to 375°. Sift flour, sugar and salt into bowl. Mix in thoroughly with fork the shortening, egg yolk, milk and vanilla. Form into balls the size of a small walnut. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press 1/16-inch thick with bottom of greased glass dipped in sugar. Brush with slightly beaten egg white. Sprinkle with finely chopped pecans. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
