  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar, packed
  • pecans, chopped - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp

How to make pecan crispies:

Cream shortening, margarine and sugar until soft. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Add in two additions. Beat well after each addition; fold in nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in 350° oven. Yields 6 dozen cookies.
