  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • cloves, ground - 1 tsp

How to make pecan cake:

Cream butter; add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to butter mixture. Fold in pecans. Bake in a well-greased lightly floured tube pan (9-inch). Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until straw inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing. This can be baked and stored for a couple of days. Keep cool.
