Pecan brittle
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- baking soda - 3/4 Tbsp
- light corn syrup
- pecans - 5 c
How to make pecan brittle:
Toast pecans in a 200° oven until warm. Set aside. Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to 240°, then add pecans. Cook to 295°, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and stir until dissolved. Add soda and salt; stir vigorously. Pour out in butter greased pans. Spread as thinly as possible. Break into pieces when cooled.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Fruit.
