Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- grated coconut - 1/2 c
- Filling:2 beaten eggs
How to make pecan bars:
Filling:2 beaten eggs1 1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. grated coconut1 c. chopped pecans2 Tbsp. flour1/2 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt1 tsp. vanilla Pastry Base: Cream butter and sugar until well blended. Beat in egg. Combine flour and salt and add these dry ingredients in about three parts to the butter mixture, blending them well. Add vanilla. Use dampened hands to spread the dough evenly in a 9 x 12-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.Filling: Combine ingredients; spread this on the cooked pastry base; bake at 350° for 25 minutes. When cool, spread it with powdered sugar.
