Ingredients/Components
- ripe pears, cut into pieces - 2 lb
- juice of 1 lemon
- plus 1/4 c - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- almond extract - 1/2 tsp
- slivered almonds - 1/2 c
How to make pear tart:
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9-inch spring pan. Toss pears with lemon juice. Cream 1/2 cup butter with 3/4 cup sugar. Add beaten eggs, one at a time. Sift flour and baking powder. Add to mixture. Add almond extract. Stir batter. It will be thick. Spread batter in pan. Top with pear mixture. Top with 1/4 cup each butter and sugar. Top with slivered almonds.
