vanilla
salt
butter
all-purpose flour
firmly packed brown sugar
egg, separated - 1 item

How to make peanut cookies:

Blend butter and sugar in bowl. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla. Sift flour and salt into bowl. Mix well. Chill. Roll in balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg white and roll in nuts. Place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet. Bake in 350° oven. After 5 minutes, press thumb in center of each cookie. Bake 5 minutes longer. Cool. Fill with frosting and garnish with peanut M&M's. Use red and green ones for Christmas. Use Confectioners Sugar Icing.
