Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar - 1/2 c
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1/2 c
  • + 2 Tbsp - 2 c
  • chocolate sundae sauce - 1 c

How to make peanut butter squares:

Blend together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, egg, soda, salt and vanilla until light. Mix in 2 cups flour. Press 2/3 of mixture in bottom of 9 x 13-inch greased pan. Top with mixture of chocolate sauce, powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons flour. Add oatmeal to remaining dough. Crumble over filling. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
