Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 c
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • egg yolks, beaten - 3 item
  • milk, scalded - 2 c
  • baked pie shell - 1 item
  • egg whites for meringue - 3 item

How to make peanut butter pie:

Combine peanut butter and powdered sugar until the appearance of biscuit mix. Spread 1/2 of this mixture on the pie crust. Combine cornstarch, sugar and salt. Add scalded milk and mix well. Pour a small amount over beaten egg yolks. Beat well, then add to milk mixture. Cook in double boiler until thick. Add butter and vanilla and pour into pie shell. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture over meringue and bake at 350° until brown.
