How to make peanut butter cookies:
Preheat oven to 350°. Sift flour with baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In large bowl, with portable electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter with peanut butter. Add the sugars gradually; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture; beat at low speed until well combined. Refrigerate dough, covered, until chilled, about 1 hour. With teaspoon, shape dough into balls about 3/4-inch in diameter. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork, making crisscross pattern. Bake for 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand a few minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool. Makes about 5 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Hand Formed cookies.
