Peanut butter cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1/2 tsp
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• brown sugar - 1/2 c
• soda - 1 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/2 c
• sifted flour
• peanut butter - 1/3 c
• white sugar - 1/2 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars together. Add the egg and beat well. Sift the remaining dry ingredients together and add to the first mixture. Add the vanilla and form into small balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and press each ball flat with the prongs of a fork. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Yield: 4 dozen (2-inch) cookies.
