granulated sugar - 1/2 c
salt - 1/4 tsp
flour
brown sugar - 1/2 c
butter - 1/4 c
soda - 3/4 tsp
baking powder - 1/2 tsp
egg - 1 item
shortening - 1/4 c
peanut butter - 1/2 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Mix shortening, margarine, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg thoroughly. Blend all dry ingredients and add. Roll dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 3-inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Flatten crisscross style with a fork dipped in flour. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated 375° oven. Makes 3 dozen, 2 1/2-inch cookies.
