Peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- white sugar - 3 c
- Karo syrup - 1 c
- or more small Spanish peanuts raw - 3 c
How to make peanut brittle:
Boil sugar, Karo syrup and water together until it spins a thread (232° on candy thermometer). Add peanuts; stir continuously. Cook until it turns brownish gold (300°). Take off heat; add butter, salt and soda. Stir well. Pour onto greased pans or plates to cool. When cool, crack and store in airtight containers.Note: Do not make on a damp day.
