Peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- margarine - 3 Tbsp
- white sugar - 2 c
- white corn syrup - 1 c
- Planters salted peanuts - 2 c
How to make peanut brittle:
Combine sugar, syrup and water in a heavy 3-quart pan. Mix and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Cook until mixture reaches 285°. Remove from heat at once. Stir in peanuts and margarine. Return to heat, stirring, until mixture reaches 295°. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Stir to blend (fast). Mixture will foam. Pour on large buttered baking sheet. Break in pieces when cold.Recipe categories: Desserts, Fruit, Candy.
