Peanut brittle



  • sugar - 4 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 3 tsp
  • white Karo syrup - 2 c
  • raw peanuts - 4 c

How to make peanut brittle:

In a large pan, bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil (250° on candy thermometer). Add peanuts and butter. Boil to 300° on candy thermometer. Remove from fire and add soda. Stir thoroughly and pour quickly without using a spoon to spread onto well-greased cookie sheet. Let cool, then break into pieces. This recipe may be cut in half.
