Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • white sugar - 1/2 c
  • chocolate candy kisses - 1 item

How to make peanut blossoms:

Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Gradually add white sugar and firmly packed brown sugar. Cream well. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Shape into small balls and roll in white sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and place solid milk chocolate candy kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that cookie cracks around the edges. Return to oven; bake 2 to 4 minutes longer.
