Ingredients/Components
- yeast cake - 1 item
- scalded milk - 1 c
- warm water to dissolve yeast - 1/4 c
- Crisco
- sugar - 1 rounded
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- egg, beaten - 1 item
How to make parker house rolls:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Place Crisco, sugar and salt in dish and pour warm milk over; mix. Add beaten egg and yeast to this mixture; then add enough flour to make a cake batter dough. Let rise about double; then roll in more flour and make rolls and let rise again (about 2 hours). Bake at 350° to 375°.
