Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
How to make pancakes:
Sift flour with salt, baking powder and sugar. Combine egg, milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until flour is moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Pour small amounts of batter on hot griddle. When bubbles appear on top, turn and cook on other side until done. Makes 6 to 8 pancakes.For Buttermilk Pancakes: Lower baking powder to 2 teaspoons, add 1/2 teaspoon soda and substitute 1 cup buttermilk for the milk.
