Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
- dates or raisins - 2/3 c
How to make palestinian fasting cake:
In saucepan, combine sugar, water, shortening, dates or raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon and ground cloves. Boil together for 3 minutes. Let cool. Dissolve in cup the baking soda and salt in 2 teaspoons water. Add the salt/soda to the fruit mixture. CombineRecipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Palestinian.
