Ingredients/Components
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- olive oil - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 2 item
- pork chops, browned - 4 item
- cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
- to 5 cloves garlic, chopped - 4 item
- crab claws - 8 item
- rice and saffron vigo flavoring and coloring - 1 item
- chicken thighs, browned other pieces okay - 4 item
- lobster tails, split and cleaned - 4 item
How to make paella:
Brown chops and chicken until done or almost done; set aside. In large roaster, brown onions, peppers and garlic to soft state in 1/2 cup olive oil. Wash 3 cups rice in strainer until water is clear.Meanwhile, in roaster with onions, peppers and garlic, put 3 3/4 cups water. Bring to boil. Put in all meats, rice and 1 1/2 packages vigo flavoring. Stir and bring to a boil. Cover and put in 375° oven for 50 to 60 minutes. If rice has too much water at end of cooking time, drain it off with a spoon and put back in oven for 10 more minutes. Remove lid and garnish with pimientos and little peas, if desired. Serves 6 to 8.
