- milk
- butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- soft bread crumbs
- American cheese, cubed - 1/2 lb
- mushroom soup - 2 c
- box macaroni - 1 oz
- hard-cooked eggs - 3 item
- chopped chicken or turkey - 4 c
How to make overnight scalloped chicken casserole:
In large bowl, combine soup, milk and cheese. Add chicken or turkey, macaroni and eggs. Stir in 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine. Transfer to a greased 9 x 13-inch dish. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Toss bread crumbs with remaining butter, sprinkle over casserole. Bake uncovered at 350° for 60 to 65 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
