Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
  • frozen peas - 1 pkg
  • hard-boiled eggs, chopped - 3 item
  • mayonnaise - 2 c
  • tomato wedges - 1 item
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 1/2 c
  • can water chestnuts, drained and sliced - 1 oz
  • bacon, fried and crumbled - 1/2 lb
  • thin sliced onions - 1/2 c
  • thin sliced celery - 1 c
  • medium size head lettuce, cut in bite size pieces - 1 item

How to make overnight layered salad:

Use a 4-quart bowl or casserole. Place the lettuce pieces in bottom of bowl. Top with the onions, celery, water chestnuts and frozen peas. Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the peas. Sprinkle the sugar, grated Parmesan and garlic salt over the mayonnaise. Chill 24 hours. Garnish with the chopped eggs, crumbled bacon and tomato wedges.
