Overnight layered salad
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 2 Tbsp
- thinly sliced radishes - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 4 oz
- mayonnaise - 1 pt
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- salt to taste - 1 item
- chopped pimentos - 1/4 c
- fresh spinach - 1/2 lb
- head lettuce - 1 item
- sugar to taste - 1 item
- Parmesan cheese to sprinkle - 1 item
- parsley to decorate - 1 item
- mild onion, thinly sliced - 1/4 c
- frozen peas, thawed, but not cooked - 1 pkg
- bacon bits 8 slices fried crisp and crumbled
How to make overnight layered salad:
Wash and dry lettuce and spinach and break into bite size pieces. Place in large bowl. Top with celery, onion, peas and radishes. Sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper, sugar and Parmesan cheese to taste.Mix mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth, then pour on top of vegetables, spreading over to cover vegetables. Garnish with pimentos, bacon bits, shredded Cheddar cheese and parsley. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. Toss gently before serving. Serves 12.
