  • vanilla extract - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • large eggs - 8 item
  • loaf French bread - 1 (10
  • syrup - 1 item

How to make overnight french toast:

Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan. Cut bread into 1-inch slices and arrange in single layer in pan. In a large bowl, beat eggs with milk, sugar, salt and vanilla. Pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate. Next day, uncover and dot with butter. Bake at 350° until puffy and light brown. Serve with syrup. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
